About The Maxine Family
The Maxine line of my Dad's side of the family begins as the Maximin family, of Saint-Denis, Belgium, that immigrated to the United States aboard the ship "Atlas," which sailed from Antwerp to New York in 1856. On arrival in the USA, the Maximin surname became Maxime, and in the early 1900s it evolved into Maxine. So if you're exploring this branch of the family tree, take a look at all three surnames below.

Beyond the direct line back through my grandfather, I know little of what happened to the descendants of the other Maximes and Maxines. If you have any information on them, I would be delighted to hear from you.

My Mom's side of the family is much better documented. My Kirkpatrick ancestry is primarily documented from two Kirkpatrick family Bibles I possess - one from the mid-1800s and one from about fifty years later - as well as numerous family letters and documents. The Kirkpatrick Family connects with the well-documented Hardy family and Anne Council. My Mom's Campbell line, after immigrating to the USA in 1870, is also well-documented in my family records and notes. Her Mott/McMott line is currently being researched.

My partner Eric Shanower's family is included on this site, too. In addition to Shanower and its various spellings - including Shaneour and Schonauer - his family names include Evans, Flora, Grant, Grandy, Haflich, Hawk, Herttua, Hietanen, Hirvi, Hopton, Huss, Leifer, Marshall, McNaughton, Ridenour, Rider, Roush, Salo, Stuuri, and others.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
